Jocelyn Gourvennec continues to interest Newcastle

According to today’s L’Équipe, Guingamp manager Jocelyn Gourvennec continues to interest Newcastle United as the Premier League side look to appoint someone on a permanent basis following John Carver’s interim appointment halfway through the season just gone.

Gourvennec is disappointed with the lack of quality of offers that he has received so far, having held talks with Rennes before Montanier was awarded an extension. Gourvennec has rejected approaches from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg and German second division outfit Leipzig.

Gourvennec is currently mulling over his options with some family time, but at the moment, he will most likely be Guingamp boss when pre-season begins.
