Laurent Blanc asks for the immediate departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to Le Parisien

According to our colleagues at Le Parisien, PSG manager Laurent Blanc has asked for the departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi this month.

The newspaper contacted senior PSG sources who say that Laurent Blanc has told the club’s representatives that if they can find another left-sided attacker, he would not hesitate to allow Lavezzi to depart. Their relationship has been sour ever since September last year as GFFN exclusively revealed after speaking to sources close to the player.

The reason why Ezequiel Lavezzi failed to turn up at PSG’s winter training camp at Marrakech was because he wanted to leave after a break down in relationship with Laurent Blanc.

Unfortunately for Blanc, Al Khelaifi and Letang (President and Sporting Director) do not see the situation in the same way. With FFP, they are pessimistic about finding a world class replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi this month, which would be the only way in which the club goof facilitate El Pocho’s departure.

Apart from a concrete approach from Inter Milan and Valencia, GFFN can confirm that Lavezzi’s camp have not yet received any firm offers that they are content enough with.

Another reason against the departure of Lavezzi is how well-liked he is in the PSG camp by the South American players as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the extent where a Lavezzi departure might upset the team dynamic as they remain in 4 major competitions with four months of the season remaining.

Either way, Nasser Al Khelaifi has come around to the fact that the departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi in the summer, for a fee of around €15m, would make sense, having also been disappointed in the Argentinian’s recent performances. Unfortunately for Blanc, at the time of writing, the departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi this month is impossible.
