Manchester United asking PSG for too much for Angel di Maria

According to today’s edition of L’Équipe, Premier League side Manchester United are asking to recoup at least what they paid for the player last summer, which equates to about €75m, a fee that PSG are not willing to pay at the time of writing.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich and certain Spanish sides have also shown an interest in the Argentine, but Manchester United do not want to sell to any direct rivals, Bayern have already bought Douglas Costa and a return to Real Madrid is impossible.

Di Maria has stated his privately stated his desire to leave Manchester United and join PSG, having given the Ligue 1 side an agreement in principle, but if Manchester United do not lower their demands, Les Parisiens will have to look elsewhere, notably at Wolfsburg’s Kevin de Bruyne, who they remain in contact with.

According to our colleagues at RMC, there is still no formal offer for Di Maria to Manchester United, but it is understood that in the coming hours PSG will test Manchester United’s resolve with a €60m bid.
