Newcastle have confirmed the permanent transfer of French defender Mapou Yanga Mbiwa to AS Roma after the player activated a clause in his loan contract after playing 20 games for the Serie A outfit.
Newcastle will receive just over €7m for the former Montpellier captain. The length of Yanga-Mbiwa’s contract at AS Roma is unclear at the time of writing.
