Marseille President Vincent Labrune yesterday entered into contact with German manager Jurgen Klopp about the vacant coaching position.
Klopp did not immediately rebuff OM’s approach and was even flattered to be asked, but has requested some thinking time over any possible deal. In reality, it appears as if Klopp would prefer to take a year out before joining a top 10 European side in 2016/17, according to RMC.
The other potential stumbling block for any deal is that Klopp would prefer to speak the language at the club that he next works for fluently, which is why he would prefer a move to Germany or England. Bayern Munich’s hot seat will also likely be available in 2016/2017 and he is conscious of that too.
