Speaking exclusively to our colleagues at Foot Mercato, Moussa Sissoko’s agent Bakari Sanogo explained his client’s situation.
“Moussa signed for 6 and a half years with Newcastle. So he has another 4 years on his contract. We have our ears open. But he is concentrated on his club and the league. The most important thing today is that he performs well and has a good year on the pitch. Everything else will follow. His priority is to remain concentrated on his club and his work. He remains professional. The most important thing is that he does not become distracted by a possible transfer and that he concentrates on what he is doing. If things have to change, he will be professional in that regard too.”
“There are always clubs interested in Moussa. There are clubs who come to me for information about his situation. They come to me via intermediaries. There are concrete approaches, but there are no concrete offers. He is a player who is very wanted at the moment because of his performances and how serious he is with his work.”
“There are 5 or 6 interested clubs. There are French clubs, English clubs and German clubs. There are those who come to me for information, those who ask questions. But it is those clubs who want to remain anonymous because they have not yet made a concrete offer. These things happen internally. But they are coming to me for information.”
“That is the aim (to join a Champions League side). There are offers. What I mean about offers is that they are good from a football and financial perspective. There are maybe some clubs that aren’t playing in the Champions League but are maybe ready to make an offer that will be difficult to refuse. Moussa is a young player who hopes to play in great competitions.”
