Earlier today, AS Monaco made official the signing of AC Milan’s Italian winger Stephan El Shaarawy on a season long loan deal, with a buy-out option built into his contract.
El Shaarawy originally joins on a one year loan deal from AC Milan, which is worth around €2 million. In addition, there is a buy-out option for Monaco come the end of the loan period worth €14-15 million.
This buy-out option becomes mandatory if the Italian plays more than 15 games or Monaco in the 2015/16 season. As a result of the buy-out option, this is basically a permanent signing from AS Monaco, disguised as an initial loan deal.
