Olivier Giroud: “I want to win the Champions League”

Speaking to French football TV show Téléfoot, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud spoke about his teammates and his desire to win the Champions League.

On the Champions League…

“To win it, remains an aim of mine. In the last few years, the signings have shown, we are building a team to rival the biggest.”

On Mesut Ozil…

“Ozil, he is a calm force. He is very calm, perhaps even introverted, but very much much technically at ease. And when he is playing at a level of high confidence, he makes the difference.” 

On Alexis Sanchez…

“We call him Duracell. He has talent and determination.”

On Santi Cazorla…

“He reads the game very well. I have a special relationship with him, we arrived at the club at the same time, we get on with each other very well.”

On Laurent Koscielny…

“Koscielny, he holds the fort behind and is on point with his interventions, we are more calm when he is there.”

On AS Monaco…

“It will be a competitive match, we will need to do what is necessary against at team that won’t be pushovers. If we are favourites, it is only by a very little bit.”
