Olivier Giroud: “It was painful being patient.”

Speaking to Le Parisien, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud discussed his competition at the London side with Theo Walcott and speaking with Arsène Wenger.

“We spoke (Wenger & Giroud). He has put his confidence in me, like Theo Walcott, we have two different profiles. It was also a tactical decision. It is obviously a challenge when you do not hold down a starting spot but I have not gone through a bad patch or had a bad time. It was painful being patient, I worked and I knew that the wheel would turn, especially by being effective when I came onto the pitch.”
