According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, Lille full-back Pape Souaré is in advanced negotiations to join Premier League side Crystal Palace this month.
The player is currently embroiled in advanced contract talks with Alan Pardew’s side, having already been offered a 3.5 year contract.
Crystal Palace’s third and latest offer of €4.6m is said to have been enough for Lille to allow the club to begin to thrash out a contract with the English outfit.
However, Lille have not made a final decision on whether or not to sell the player. Souaré’s departure would however facilitate the arrival of Benfica striker Derley on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. Manager René Girard wants to sell and bring in Derley, but the Lille board are not convinced.
More undoubtedly to follow.
