PSG make formal di Maria enquiry

According to French media outlet RMC, Ligue 1 Champions PSG have approached Premier League side Manchester United over the signing of Angle di Maria, and have been met by a favourable reaction from the Red Devils.

Angel di Maria started last season positively in Louis van Gaal’s side, but injuries and a loss of form led to him losing his place in the side later in the season. RMC suggest that Manchester United are not opposed to selling di Maria because the player in unhappy at the club and his relationship with van Gaal is strained.

The French outlet also suggests that Manchester United would be willing to accept an offer of around €65m, which is considerably less money than they paid to sign him from Real Madrid last summer. However, PSG do not want to make a bid until they have agreed a contract with di Maria himself.

In terms of a personal contract for di Maria, RMC suggest di Maria wants €12.5 million per year, but PSG are only offering €10 million per year at the moment. The Ligue 1 side are also reportedly in talks with Kevin de Bruyne as a back-up.
