French newspaper L’Équipe has named a list of players that PSG have held a long term interest in and might look to sign this summer which reads as follows.
From the Bundesliga, PSG have recently been in contact with Marco Reus and Kevin de Bruyne’s respective camps, but Reus wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund for another season after signing a contract extension and Kevin de Bruyne is being targeted heavily by Manchester City, and to a lesser extent, Bayern Munich.
PSG are also watching Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitarian, whose contract expires in 2017, but he remains a secondary player on the club’s shortlist.
In Ligue 1, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette was already the subject of an enquiry from PSG last summer and certain members of the Les Parisiens hierarchy see Lacazette as the perfect long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic whose deal expires at the end of next season. With Cavani and Lavezzi both closing in on a summer exit, PSG will surely need to sign some sort of striker. Paulo Dybala is one who they have contacted for example.
As for the free transfer market, PSG remain interested in recouping Andreas Pereira, the youngster at Manchester United for nothing this summer, but are less interested in Barcelona’s Dani Alves, who is desperate to join Les Parisiens.
At the age of 32, Alves is hoping to sign one last big contract, but PSG are aware that they have van der Wiel and Aurier, and the whole of the PSG board are not convinced that signing Alves and selling the Dutch international would necessarily make the squad better.
