Ligue 1 have confirmed that tonight’s scheduled match between Corsican rivals SC Bastia and Gazelec Ajaccio has been postponed due to heavy winds.
A decision on whether or not to play the match tomorrow, or in fact reschedule it to an entirely different date, will be made imminently.
There had been considerable pre-match controversy surrounding the fixture when it emerged that the Corsicans had no intention of singing La Marseillaise in honour of the victims of last weekend’s terror attacks, despite the fact that every other Ligue 1 club will be playing the French national anthem.
This was due to Corsican ideas and wants of independence from France.
The local authorities have now confirmed that the match will be played tomorrow at 14:00 local time.
