Wenger confident of Coquelin deal, unsure about Diaby

Arsène Wenger expressed his confidence in that French midfielder Francis Coquelin would sign a new deal after confirming that the player will be offered one in a pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Brighton in the FA Cup this weekend.

Coquelin’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

As for the future of compatriot Abou Diaby, the situation is seemingly a little more bleak:

“He is still injured and is not close to coming back. We will have to make a decision on his contract.”
