Zlatan Ibrahimovic & Serge Aurier hit with Champions League bans

UEFA announced this afternoon that PSG players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Serge Aurier have been sanctioned following two separate incidents for one and three matches respectively.

Zlatan has been handed a one match ban following the red card he received in the 2nd leg of the last round of the Champions League following a collision with Chelsea’s Oscar. His ban was expected to be 2 matches long and has been cut due to the severity of the red card that was initially sanctioned by Dutch referee Kuipers.

Serge Aurier has been hit with a three match suspension after footage posted on his own Instagram account showed him call the Dutch referee in question a “son of a b****”. Serge Aurier was watching the game from his home that night because of a long-term injury.
