Along with a number of proposals that were pushed through by the LFP in a meeting yesterday, Ligue 1 is set to have its very first FIFA gaming league, in partnership with EA Sports.
Many details have yet to be confirmed, but certain principles have been taken down. Each club in Ligue 1 will pick two players through the online FIFA Ultimate Team competition, one on Xbox, one on PS3. These 40 players will face each other throughout the season, with the final happening in spring.
The winner will join the European league. During the same time, the French season will continue. It is not impossible that these online encounters happen before the Ligue 1 season starts.
