An individual has been placed in police custody following the firecracker incident at a Ligue 1 match between Metz and Lyon last weekend, according to local press reports.
Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes was targeted with firecrackers by the FC Metz ultras group Horda Frenetik. One eventually exploded directly next to the Portuguese international, causing the match to be called off and injuring a Lyon doctor and causing Lopes to suffer from “sound trauma”.
Lopes remains in contention tonight to play for Lyon against Sevilla.
The LFP will decide tomorrow night whether or not the match should be replayed between Lyon and Metz or whether Lyon should be awarded the points automatically.
The man who has been apprehended by the police was caught on surveillance footage.
