Alexandre Lacazette “not leaving” Lyon, according to Le Progrès

Much has been made of an article written in today’s regional newspaper Le Progrès, that cites a source at the club who claims that Alexandre Lacazette is absolutely not leaving Lyon.

This report brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Lyon’s position has always been that the player is not for sale, rejecting all bids from Arsenal and West Ham so far this window.

The French striker still desires to leave Lyon this summer, but following the imminent signing of Jesé by PSG, their is only one side left in the race, Arsenal.

As we have said since the beginning of the window, only an offer worth €60m will be enough for Lyon to even consider selling the player.

If Arsenal make an offer of this size, and Lyon still reject it, the player might put pressure on the club as a result and attempt to force a move. So far, he has agreed not to make his desire to leave Lyon public.

The ball is in Arsenal’s court, this latest report means nothing.
