Alexandre Lacazette to Newcastle – a no-go

According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, reports claiming that Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is “much more receptive” to a move to Premier League side Newcastle in the final week of the January transfer window are “absolutely false, Alex will remain until the end of the season”.

The player has maintained his desire to remain at Lyon until the end of the season in a bid to secure himself a place in Didier Deschamps’s France squad for EURO 2016, before possibly moving to the Premier League this summer.

Lyon, who recently sold Claudio Beauvue, now only have one established striker in the form of Alexandre Lacazette and any sale of the player in January is now seen as absolutely impossible for OL.
