Tunisian central defender Aymen Abdennour is set to remain at La Liga side Valencia for the remainder of the season, despite intense interest from Olympique de Marseille, according to France Football.
Abdennour has been the subject of interest from the aforementioned Ligue 1 outfit as well as Premier League side Everton and a Chinese club, but Valencia boss César Prandelli is absolutely insisting that the Tunisian international, who will be featuring in the African Cup of Nations, remains at the club.
Sources close to the player had the following to say on the offer from China:
“What has been offered is enormous. But we will not be going. It does not correspond with the football project that Aymen wants and he intends to help Valencia get out of this tricky patch.”
Having said that, Abdennour is fully expected to be on the market in the summer window.
