Chelsea youngster Bertrand Traoré has asked Marseille for time after the Ligue 1 side formally made a loan offer for the young attacker.
According to a source contacted by our colleagues at Foot Mercato, the situation is currently as follows:
“The contacts between the representatives of Bertrand and Vincent Labrune are really. But for the moment, they are hesitating. The Marseille offer is very interesting, but they want to take time to assess Marseille’s situation and all the possibilities that are being offered to Bertrand. Chelsea are not against a loan and the idea is to take a decision between now and the end of the week due to the number of interested parties.”
Marseille have tough competition in their way if they are to get Bertrand Traoré through the door this month. Borussia Dortmund, who already made a €10m offer for the player last summer, have returned to the negotiating table with Chelsea by making a loan offer for the next 18 months.
Chelsea are however apparently not sure about that length of time in terms of a loan. Hamburg have also submitted a loan offer, but their proposal is similar to Marseille’s. Ajax and Vitesse in the Netherlands are also active with regards to this player.
More undoubtedly to follow in the coming days.
