Yesterday we reported that Clinton N’Jie had decided to remain at Tottenham for the forthcoming season, after a meeting with Mauricio Pochettino and Paul Mitchell on Monday.
This was the case, but then came a special guest ringing the door bell at N’Jie’s home in London on Monday night… it was Marseille President Vincent Labrune, according to L’Équipe.
The pair spent hours talking, in a meeting that only ended at 3am!
Phone calls to the player from Marseille manager Franck Passi and scout Jean Philippe Durand had failed, so in came the outgoing OM President, who is set to leave his post on Monday.
Labrune left the Cameroonian international with a choice and is waiting for N’Jie’s final decision. Tottenham are not opposed to the player’s departure.
