Dijon have officially announced the signing of 18-year-old Guillaume Sarrabayrouse on a three-year-contract.
The defensive midfielder signed for Dijon from US Colomiers, and continues Dijon’s transfer policy of buying talented youth from across the French divisions and creating new stars.
A native of Toulouse, Sarrabayrouse has been singled out by Dijon Head of Recruitment Sebastien Larcier as one of the top talents in football.
“At 18, it’s beautiful and it proves that Guillaume has enormous potential. He is very comfortable on the ball, and he is almost like a playmaker in front of the defence.”
Having worked his way up from amateur club US Colomiers to earn his first professional contract at Dijon, Sarrabayrouse explained what motivated him to sign for DFCO.
“Other players with a similar profile to mine have worked well at DFCO. This is encouraging and proves that with hard work, you get rewarded. During my testing, I could feel the family atmosphere of the club and the spirit of the group. Even the city is nice! It really is a dream come true. Now I hope to play as much as possible at such a high level.”
Sarrabayrouse is clearly one for the future, but the way that the Head of Recruitment for Dijon spoke about him, the club hold him in high regard. After only one season for US Colomiers in the amateur league, this could be the step up Sarrabayrouse needed to become a star.
