Doyen Sports considering Marseille purchase

According to L’Équipe, the controversial company Doyen Sports are considering buying Ligue 1 side Marseille.

A source close to the situation had the following to say:

“It is not in their current plan. Doyen and FIFA are actively in conflict before the European Court of Justice (concerning their third party ownership system, activity that has been banned since May 2015). If Doyen is punished and sees its act cities prohibited in terms of transfers, then it could do worse than to buy a club. This could be Atletico Madrid, but given our good relations, it is not out of the question that it is Marseille.”
