According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, Ligue 1 side Lille have re-opened negotiations with Newcastle United for the possible signing of French striker Emmanuel Rivière.
The striker had been offered to Lille earlier on in the window, but a talks did not become concrete because Newcastle wanted to sell the player and not allow him to go out on loan.
As it stands, Newcastle’s position is the same. They want to sell the player outright but Lille are only willing to sign the player on loan with an option to buy.
The question is whether or not NUFC will concede defeat in the final hours of the window and allow the player to leave on loan after all. One to watch in the next 36 hours.
