According to L’Équipe, the injury to Alexandre Lacazette has led Lyon to enter into the French joker market to potentially sign 3rd division, highly-rated forward Jean Philippe Mateta from Châteauroux.
Lyon are understood to have had a fresh offer last week rejected by the National outfit, but are expected to make an improved proposal this morning.
The 19 year old wants to join Lyon, but Châteauroux were initially only willing to sell if it meant the player being loaned straight back to the club until the end of the season.
Now, the National side appear willing to sell the player outright, but only for €5m.
Lyon have also been in talks with free agent Emmanuel Adebayor and Bordeaux striker Gaëtan Laborde.
