According to L’Équipe, Italian central midfielder Marco Verratti will sign yet another extension with PSG, this time until 2021.
Despite having recently signed an improved contract in February 2016, which included a rise in salary but not an extension in the length of his contract, the French daily reports that the Italian international will sign a one year extension to his current agreement with PSG.
This move is motivated by PSG’s desire to tie the player down, with continued, strong interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid in Verratti’s services. The French newspaper reaffirms how happy Verratti is in the capital and that he even sees himself as becoming club captain one day.
In terms of his injury status, the player hopes to be back for the Coupe de France final against Marseille and thus in contention for a place at EURO 2016.
