Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille are continuing to pursue French left-back Jordan Amavi, despite Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia’s latest declarations telling fans not to worry about the former OGC Nice man’s future situation, according to L’Équipe.
Marseille Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarretta has met with the player’s representatives on multiple occasions.
However, doing a deal will be complicated. The player, should he leave, prefers a move to the Premier League. Then there is the price. Aston Villa are understood to have rejected an offer worth around €30m for Amavi from China.
The French newspaper believed that around €20m might be enough to convince Villa to sell the player, which is perhaps underestimating Dr Tony Xia’s resolve.
In any case, OM’s transfer window priority is called Jordan Amavi.
