Marseille prosecutor will seek prison sentences for 10 fans who were arrested

The Marseille prosecutor has confirmed that he will seek prison sentences for the 10 fans who were arrested in the city last weekend and are due to stand trial today.

Three of the individuals are French, who, alongside a prison sentence, are also going to be targeted with lifetime bans from football stadiums.

The other seven are foreigners, six being English and one being Austrian. The prosecutor is also seeking bans from entering certain countries for these foreigners, notably France, alongside prison sentences.

The prosecutor also confirmed that 150 Russian hooligans were the main perpetrators of violence over the weekend, but that not a single one was caught by the CRS and therefore would not be standing trial today.
