Get French Football News can reveal that negotiations between Swansea and Newcastle have today accelerated for the possible transfer of French striker Bafétimbi Gomis.
The two clubs this evening are close to a fee agreement worth just under €9m, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
The player himself wants to move to Newcastle and the sticking point earlier on in the week had been around contract length, with Gomis’s camp wanting a 3.5 year deal but with Newcastle provisionally only offered the player a 2.5 year deal.
Negotiations on that front however seem to be going in the right direction and the Magpies are in the process of putting themselves in a position to be able to sign Bafétimbi Gomis. More undoubtedly to follow.
