Lorient has announced the signing of Rennes right-back Steven Moreira on a four-year-deal.
The defender has been at Rennes his whole career, making his way into the first team in the 2013/14 season, making a total of 73 appearances, including 58 in Ligue 1.
Moreira said: “I’ve wanted to join Lorient all summer, and I am happy that it has now been completed. This is a club that fits me because I share the same values and the philosophy of the game.
“It’s a great challenge for me. I will have to adapt quickly to the style of the coach, and I can’t wait to meet up with my new teammates.”
Lorient boss Sylvain Ripoll has also spoken of his delight at signing as he describes him, “a young, talented defender.”
“Steven is a player we have been following or some time already. We know his qualities and we are confident that it will quickly use them to help the team” said Ripoll.
“He’s still a young player but he has solid experience in Ligue 1. We are happy to see him join us.”
Moreira has been capped at every national level for France (except the first team) & has already picked up 4 caps for the Under-21 team.
