Guingamp have announced that they have completed the loan signing of Benfica defender Marcal, on a season-long-loan.
The Brazilian defender, who is more comfortable in the left-back position, joins the French club after spending most of his career in Portugal with Nacional, Benfica and Toreense, before joining Turkish club Gaziantepspor last season.
The 27-year-old will give Guingamp a lot more depth in defence, and gives them another option at left-back, whilst also having a vast amount of first team experience at the clubs he’s played for.
The player also had an offer from SC Bastia. It is believed that there is an option to buy included in the loan deal.
