Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tutto Juve, Marseille left-back Paolo de Cegile openly criticised the French division as he continues to struggle to earn playing time.
“Ligue 1 is a championship that lacks a tactical culture. It is overwhelmingly based on individuals, with lots of youngsters who are less ready in terms of experience, those who make tactical errors are considered less bad than they would be in Italy. It is also a much more physical league. This experience has allowed me to understand how some countries could learn from Italian football… I will finish my season with Marseille, then I will return to Juventus as I have another year’s contract there. Then, we will see. I was in good physical shape throughout the season, which gives me confidence for the next one.”
