New Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder is an upgrade on his fellow countryman Kevin Gameiro, according to Toulouse manager Pascal Dupraz.
Dupraz also confirmed interest from Arsenal – “a great club, but not the right choice for him” – but Sevilla and La Liga would be the ‘perfect platform’ for him to excel.
“Sevilla have not found a replacement for Gameiro, they have found a better striker,” said Dupraz, speaking to Estadio Deportivo.
“Gameiro is a fantastic player, but Wissam is one of the best I have ever seen.”
Dupraz raved that Ben Yedder was the best striker in Ligue 1 after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and lamented having to sell him so cheaply as he entered the last year of his contract.
“Wissam is a magician with the ball. Yes, he is tangibly a great finisher, but what separates him from Gameiro and the rest is he mobile and adaptable, able to play in a variety of positions and produce excellent performances,” explained the 53-year-old.
