Philippe Montanier sacked, Rolland Courbis replaces him

According to multiple reports, Rennes have this morning sacked manager Philippe Montanier.

Rennes President Rene Ruello has replaced Montanier with former Montpellier boss Rolland Courbis, who comes in until at least the end of the season.

Get French Football News reported last week that the introduction of Courbis as a “special advisor” to Rennes President Rene Ruello was a move designed to force Montanier out.

BeIN Sports are reporting that the Rolland Courbis’ son and agent Stephane Courbis arrived in Rennes last night to draw up the contract for the former Montpellier man to sign.
