Two of this season’s surprise packages meet at the Allianz Riviera this Friday as Nice take on high-flying Angers. Despite not getting the win over Lille last weekend, Nice managed to break into the top four and subsequently head into this match just four points behind their opponents.
Angers, meanwhile, continue to defy all odds and sit second in the table, albeit a massive 20 points behind PSG. They have lost just one of their last seven league outings and beat Caen 2-0 at home last weekend. Head coach Stephane Moulin will be anxious to get all three points here as well, given that his side’s next two league fixtures are against PSG and Monaco.
Earlier this season, these two sides drew 1-1 at the Stade Jean-Bouin, with Valère Germain equalising for Nice after Thomas Mangani had opened the scoring.
