Speaking to Canal + last night, Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez confirmed that Arsenal made a concrete proposal for him and that he was interested. Ultimately, he decided to repay the faith that the Foxes had in him and remain at the club.
Speaking about Arsenal specifically, Mahrez had the following to say:
“Arsenal were in contact. But Leicester wanted to keep me and I was pretty expensive. I did not want to get into a conflict with Leicester. I stayed. It was a very good thing. The coach believes in me, it is up to me to prove myself in my second year.”
