SC Bastia are set to announce the signing of French striker Thievy Bifouma from Espanyol in the coming hours.
Bifouma has been training with the Corsican side since Wednesday and joins on a three year contract, subject to ratification from the French football league body.
SC Bastia will not be able to announce this deal, or the loan deal for AS Monaco attacker Allan Saint-Maximin, until their sale of François Kamano to Bordeaux has gone through.
This is because the French financial watchdog the DNCG has banned the Corsicans from signing players until they recoup enough money to balance the books. SC Bastia will achieve this when the sale of Kamano goes through.
