Sunday’s Ligue 1 football in 60 seconds

All you need to know about today’s Ligue 1 action in 60 seconds.

Bordeaux vs Nantes (14:00 GMT)

Bordeaux and Nantes clash in the Derby de l’Atlantique on Sunday afternoon, with the match being played at the Matmut Atlantique. The hosts suffered a hugely disappointing 4-1 loss to Toulouse last weekend, so manager Jocelyn Gourvennec will be more eager than ever to bounce back with a victory over their rivals.

Nantes also tasted defeat last time out, albeit by a much smaller margin, as they lost 1-0 to Monaco. They will, however, by aiming to replicate an away performance much like the one from the opening weekend of the season, in which they won away at Dijon.

In the corresponding fixture last season, Bordeaux won 2-0.

St Etienne vs Toulouse (16:00 GMT)

St Etienne will be aiming for a second consecutive win as they welcome Toulouse to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The hosts bagged their first points of the season last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Montpellier.

Toulouse, meanwhile, should head into this match full of confidence after their unexpected 4-1 victory over Bordeaux last time out. The visitors have handled a tough early season fixture list with relative ease thus far, but St Etienne should provide a stern test. A win for Toulouse would take them to the top of the table, for a couple of hours at least.

In the corresponding fixture last season, this match ended in a goalless draw.

Monaco vs PSG (19:45 GMT)

The last match of the weekend is by far the biggest, as Monaco take on champions PSG at the Stade Louis II. The hosts are unbeaten so far, with a 2-2 opening weekend draw with Guingamp followed up with a 1-0 win over Nantes. A victory over PSG though, would be a far more impressive feat for Leonardo Jardim’s men.

The visitors, meanwhile, boast a typically flawless record, with two wins from two and no goals conceded as of yet. Metz were comfortably brushed aside last weekend, as the champions prepare to enter what, on paper at least, seems to be one of their toughest domestic matches of the season.

In the corresponding fixture last season, PSG walked away with a 3-0 victory.
