According to today’s edition of L’Équipe, Spanish outfit Villarreal have made contact for French international goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
Everton are also very interested in the player, but they cannot offer European football next season.
However, with the Toffees, Mandanda is likely to be guaranteed the number one shirt, whereas, at Villarreal, he would have to compete with Sergio Asenjo.
Monaco had also been interested in Mandanda, but Danjiel Subasic has no intention of leaving the club.
The goalkeeper market is notoriously rigid, but after the season that Mandanda has had, clubs would be crazy not to come in for him.
