According to today’s edition of L’Équipe, Sevilla and Toulouse last night found a fee agreement for the transfer of striker Wissam Ben Yedder worth a little less than €9m.
The 25 year old had one year left on his Toulouse contract remaining. Sevilla waited for the Kevin Gameiro situation, who is set to join Atletico Madrid, decant before moving for Ben Yedder.
In the coming days, Ben Yedder will travel to Spain to complete a five year deal with Sevilla. Contractual details have yet to be finalised.
Wissam Ben Yedder took his time this summer to consider approaches, having been in intense contact with Lyon.
West Ham United, Leicester City and Arsenal all made their interest clear to the player’s entourage, without leading to an agreement.
PSG were also in talks with the player as recently as last week, about Ben Yedder possibly playing second fiddle to Edinson Cavani.
In the end, Ben Yedder ultimately opted for Sevilla, who he had been so close to joining last summer. Having spoken with Jorge Sampaoli this week, Ben Yedder’s camp told Sevilla to finalise an agreement with Toulouse.
