PSG are hours away from completing what is expected to be their second and final signing of the January window in the form of Benfica attacker Gonçalo Guedes.
A deal was reached between the two clubs yesterday, concluded by Director of Football Patrick Kluivert who had flown to Portugal, worth €30m.
Guedes was understood to be hesitating between moving to PSG this month and joining Manchester United in summer, the latter apparently being a concrete option according to Portuguese media.
After numerous discussions with Kluivert, Guedes was sold on a move to the Ligue 1 champions, in a deal that has been brokered by super-agent Jorge Mendes.
The player is expected to arrive in Paris today to undergo a medical before signing a 4.5 year contract. He is seen by PSG representatives as secondary option up top to provide cover for Edinson Cavani.
Unfortunately, owing to his exploits with Benfica in the Champions’ League group stages, he will not be available for any games in this competition for PSG for the rest of the season.
