Stade Rennais have completed the signing of Nancy’s Faitout Maouassa on a four-year-deal. Maouassa signs after a promising season in Ligue 1, in which he made 14 appearances at just 18-years-old.
Maouassa has represented France at youth level, where he has so far been laden with success – winning European titles with the U18 and U19 squads.
The Frenchman is very much a left-sided player, with the capacity to operate further up the flank as a winger, as well as his primary left-back position.
Rennes are understood to have paid around €7m for the young defender.
