Official | Hernani in St Étienne loan move

Brazilian midfielder Hernani has completed his move to Saint Etienne from Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg, on an initial season long loan deal without an option to buy.

Hernani becomes the fourth signing of the window for Les Verts, following the captures of Lois Diony, Saidy Janko and Asside Diousse and will join up with the club as soon as possible.

“I am very happy to be here, with my family,” said the 23-year-old. “I was very well received, and I am aware that the club has made significant efforts to sign me. I now want to work hard to make the trust that has been given me on the ground.”

“I join a club that has great history and which involved Ilan. Ligue 1 is a very physical league, that has great players and big club, just like ASSE.”

President of the club Roland Romeyer went on to say, “the midfielder is an area that we wanted to strengthen. After Assane Diousse, who joined the club last week, we welcome another young player with high potential, more athletic capabilities.”

“I hope he (Hernani) will be a successful as Aloisio, Alex, Ilan and Brandao. We are deeply renewing our group to start a new cycle of process.”
