The French club have been in talks with Dimitri Payet’s entourage for a month, but manager Rudi Garcia is the man who has taken this operation to heart in a large way, as he appears to be succeeding in convincing Payet to return home.
Why? Because Garcia is playing on Payet’s heart-strings about the fact that this is a family decision: the club, the region, the quality of life and the desires of his loved ones.
From a Marseille to Payet point of view, the French football magazine’s report believes that the player is almost entirely convinced to return to OM. The stumbling block? West Ham United. They have no intention of selling at the time of writing. But, what would happen if Payet asked to leave? Marseille are willing to offer €40m to make the deal work…
