Adil Rami: “I haven’t stolen my World Cup place from anyone.”

Speaking to RMC, French international defender Adil Rami reacted to his inclusion in the France World Cup squad.

“It is true that after Laurent’s (Koscielny) injury I starting thinking that I might have a bit more of a chance. But when you see your name on TV, it is a shock. And for me and the other Marseille players, we are dealing with difficult emotions at the moment anyway… I am sad about Laurent’s injury, he is a person I like a lot. My viewpoint is to never give up, I haven’t stolen my World Cup place from anyone. I succeeded at remaining consistent, and I kept believing. To see my name on the list, it makes me happy, when I see my mum and my family in tears, it is something special.”
