Paris United, the outlet that was first to break Neymar and Kylian Mbappé to PSG last summer, is reporting that Adrien Rabiot’s agent and mother Veronique has taken meetings with a host of top European sides as her son tries to make a decision on his future.
Rabiot made headlines earlier this summer for all the wrong reasons when he wrote a letter to the FFF announcing that he was removing himself from the 7-man reserves list that accompanied Didier Deschamps’ 23-man France squad announcement last month, prompting a barrage of criticism from the French football community.
Rabiot’s PSG contract runs until 2019, meaning that the Frenchman has 12 months left on his current deal. As a result, his agent has been looking at other options and is understood to have met with the following clubs:
Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United.
The reason why the Rabiot clan is considering leaving PSG is because they feel that the club broke promises concerning the player’s exact positioning in the midfield. Rabiot sees himself as a box-to-box #8, but Emery played him at #6 for most of this campaign.
The player returned yesterday from holidays in Ibiza and Mykonos and has lost 2kg during this period of time, as he has been told that new boss Thomas Tuchel wants lean players.
Rabiot wants to meet with Tuchel as soon as possible, having missed a meeting previously set by the German last month, which the Frenchman feels bad for missing.
Paris United claim that Tuchel intends to build his midfield around Draxler and Verratti, which would be a worry for PSG’s French midfield darling.
