Speaking in an interview with SFR Sport, Arsène Wenger discussed the Emirates Stadium send-off that he received last week during his final home game as Arsenal boss.
“I am in a job where you learn to control your emotions. You are a bit disconnected from your emotions in our job. But it was special, because often in a manager’s career, you get a kick up the back-side, and you get told to never come back here again and here you have the honour and privilege to do a lap of honour with people saying “Thank You” and “We love you,” it is rare, so it was a privilege which I recognised at its just value. First of all, I felt gratitude, and regret, that I didn’t make these people more happy, all of the time. So it was a mixed feeling.”
