Speaking to reporters following AS Monaco’s 2-0 defeat to St Étienne last night, which now makes it 7 games without a victory in Ligue 1, Vice President Vasilyev remained upbeat.
“We are very disappointed with our start to the season. Especially because we are not winning matches, we are lacking in confidence. We had many chances, you saw our quality. I saw that the team spirit was good, we had the hunger to win this match. The players gave everything. Now is time to grit our teeth, work hard and lift our heads up again. I think we will turn this around. When you are in the relegation zone, of course everybody is disappointed. Luck has left us at the beginning of the season, but look at the chances we have had. I know that with hard-work, our luck will come back.”
