Barcelona make 11th hour bid worth more than €41m to sign Malcom

In an extraordinary turn of events, FC Barcelona have this evening through an intermediary made a bid worth more than €41m excluding bonuses to sign Malcom from Bordeaux, despite the fact that a €36m agreement had been reached with AS Roma earlier on in the day.

The Brazilian was due to undergo a medical tomorrow morning with Roma and there are pictures emerging this evening of AS Roma fans waiting for Malcom to land in Italy where he was expected to land a quarter of an hour ago.

Bordeaux have now no intention of making a quick decision on the Brazilian’s future and are hoping that this series of events incites a bidding war between AS Roma and Barcelona, according to RMC.

The player had already agreed personal terms with AS Roma for a 5-year contract worth €2.5m a year.
